ENSEMBLE CULTIVATE THE JOY OF BEING TOGETHER

A vegetable garden on the 8th floor?! What a crazy idea…

Absolutely! Everything started with We R Change in 2018. There were issues we could tackle such as restoring antique furniture, the partnership with the LPO, Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux equivalent to the International Bird Protection League, or the infamous vegetable garden project. I was delighted to be able to rise up to this great challenge, especially since we work in a very urban environment. As many of us are new to the topic, we were delighted to be guided by the team from La Gacilly's botanical gardens!

How does this vegetable garden change your work environment?

It symbolises our desire to reconnect not only with nature but also with each other in the workplace. Today we grow herbs, vegetables and fruit on our terrace. We want everyone to enjoy it... for real. This terrace is open to everyone. And the fruit of our joyous labour is intended for everyone. Because what we feel, too, is a desire to share.

What are your projects for the future?

Sharing is also communicating and passing down. For example, we shared herbal tea recipes on the LISA network after a workshop that we had organised. I can sense a growing enthusiasm from my co-workers to take action and see things change. That's why there is still so much to do! Future plantings, seedlings, seeds and harvests, workshops, photo exhibitions... What makes me proud already is seeing us grab this opportunity to improve the way we live (and eat!) together.
