Protecting resources
At Groupe Rocher, we think that acting to limit our impact is a great opportunity to come together, innovate, and offer effective products that are in line with our customers' aspirations and expectations.
Our brands take a stand against plastic-everything
At the group level, we are committed to reducing our consumption of non-renewable resources, particularly in our packaging. All our brands are taking part, inspiring each other. At Yves Rocher, we switched to concentrated shower gels and shampoos in 2017
(saving 195 tonnes of plastic since their launch), integrated recycled plastic in their bottles (up to 100% for the haircare range) and used lighter ecotubes for body creams and care. At Stanhome too, the formulas are concentrated. In 2019, Arbonne
launched its Cleanser gel in the eco-tube developed previously by Yves Rocher. At Sabon, 90% of new products are made of glass. And this move away from plastic-everything is also happening in our shops. Our Yves Rocher sales points in Poland are also
working to end cellophane use in their Christmas compositions!
Setting a course for exemplarity at Petit Bateau
Our textile brand takes the greatest care when selecting its raw materials and creates balanced relationships with its suppliers. With this in mind, it launched its initiative for traceability from the fields to the clothes hangers.
It is also involved in the RETEX project, whose goal is to create a circular economy for textiles. Petit Bateau worked on the cotton issue by creating prototypes out of... its own waste materials (25% after fraying and spinning)! The brand launched its
first swimwear collection made up of 70% of yarn made from recycled fishing nets and plastic bottles. The goal? Develop a 100% responsible offer by 2025 (vs 15% in 2020)!
A NEW INGREDIENTS POLICY FOR THE GROUP
Its goal? Express our commitment to innovation and eco-design with all our brands to reinforce safety and transparency for our consumers.
A WINNING FORMULA AT STANHOME
Prime-Wash, one of the Stanhome brand’s Top 10 products, changed its formula in 2019 to include more than 77% natural ingredients.
240 000 clothes
+ 1 MILLION cosmetic products donated in 2019
WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GAIN FROM DONATING PRODUCTS.
By partnering with organisations such as Dons Solidaires, the Agence du Don en Nature, and the Red Cross, we are helping to share our textile and cosmetic products with more vulnerable populations. And we encourage everyone to do the same. When solidarity and waste reduction are combined, everyone wins!
TODAY
For 10 years, Groupe Rocher has worked to significantly limit its consumption of virgin plastic. For example, the weight of plastic packaging has been reduced by 19% since 2010 at Yves Rocher. This significant effort has enabled the reduction by 1,089 tonnes of virgin plastic on the market in 2019.
LOOKING TOWARDS 2030
Our objective for 2030 is to reduce our plastic consumption by 30% at the group level. For residual plastic, our objective is to use 100% recyclable plastic and integrate 100% of recycled plastic!
